10 ways we’ve grown over the last 100 years

Our humble beginnings experienced substantial growth over the last 100 years. In early 1921, Colonel James Dunwoody opened a solo accounting practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba with one clerk and a secretary. Throughout the 1950s, the firm grew to have 10 partners in 7 offices, with 47 total employees. By 1975, there were 65 partners in 37 offices with 425 total employees. In 1992, there were 51 offices, 134 partners, and 685 total employees. And at the end of 2020, we had 473 partners in over 125 offices with 4,579 total employees.

“The credit for the rapid expansion of our practice belongs entirely to the aggressiveness and efficiency of our partners, all of whom have devoted tremendous energy to their profession.”

– Colonel James Dunwoody, 1972
